Who is involved in The Newborn Toolkit?
Our community
The Implementation Toolkit for Small and Sick Newborn Care (The Newborn Toolkit) includes contributors from a growing community of over 300 implementers across 52 countries. Implementers across all user groups are contributing to readings, tools and learnings they use to incorporate Small and Sick Newborn Care in the healthcare systems of their country.
Our community of implementers contribute through our 11 communities of practice, which host regular webinars.
Our Expert Advisory Team
The Expert Advisory Team informs the overall direction of The Newborn Toolkit by:
- Ensuring the scope and content of The Newborn Toolkit is consistent, up-to-date with World Health Organization (WHO) standards and relevant best practices;
- Guaranteeing The Newborn Toolkit best serves the Small and Sick Newborn Care implementation community; and
- Providing cross-linkages to and collaborations with other knowledge-sharing initiatives, partners, communities and projects. These include Healthy Newborn Network (HNN), Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) and PMNCH's Digital Advocacy Hubs platform.
The Expert Advisory Team includes delegates from The World Health Organization (WHO), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, Save the Children, PATH, AlignMNH, Global Financing Facility (GFF), African Neonatal Association (ANA), Council of International Neonatal Nurses (COINN), International Paediatric Association (IPA), International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), PMNCH and Chiesi Foundation, as well as UNICEF and NEST360.
Editorial team & secretariat
The Editorial Team & Secretariat is co-chaired by Professor Joy Lawn (NEST360 & The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) and Dr Gagan Gupta (UNICEF).
This team has overall responsibility for the design, content, delivery and dissemination of The Newborn Toolkit.
